The storehouse on stills
The storehouse on stills dates from 1730, and was renovated in 1920s by Jon Evju and his sons Jon and Halvard. It is decorated with beautiful carvings, and and houses different tools and homemade articles. The building is a gem in the farmyard.
 The storehouse with wings This rare storehouse is from the 17th century. It was originally located at the farm Stenningen at Holtsås before it was moved to Evju in 1980s. Storehouses with wings are a very special type from the mid and east Telemark. It has external galleries on two wings, and it was used for drying grain, flax and other things. Both grain and flour were stored inside. It was the granary on the farm, and this is the only one in Sauherad.  |
